We walked up to the office this morning and made arrangements to stay another two days here, so now have reservations up through the 11th. We've been doing this two days at a time thing since we got here on the 3rd. As long as the resort has empty sites, they are more then willing to let us stay another 2 days at the reduced rate (sort of like the TV ad from Travelocity about the empty hotel rooms not making any money...).
This is brittlebush, which is common throughout this area. Unfortunately, its blossoms are NOT a harbinger of spring, as the bush blooms from November though summer. We walked
back to Auntie Violet taking the long way around, through a mobile home park that is next to the resort. I was industriously looking for signs of spring, but really didn't see any yet. The Colorado River bends closer to the mobile home park then to the RV park, so many of their sites have a view of the water.
I had a nice chat with Sister Sherry this afternoon. Her mastiff population is back up to five as she now has one of the puppies as a reward for all of the work she did helping to raise that huge litter of 14. She is also puppy-sitting one of the others while Anita delivers another puppy to its new owner in California. It sounds like her first dog -- and my favorite -- Deacon, pays no more attention to the puppies now than he did when they were babies.
