A Lovely Sunday

We are about thirteen miles from the town of Lansdale. Donna, at the office of Homestead Farm Campground, had given us directions to the Regional Rail station in Lansdale (where we are planning to catch the train into Philadelphia). So, when I looked on the website of Mennonite Church USA for a church to visit today, I found Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale.

We actually probably drove close to several other Mennonite churches as we passed through half a dozen small townships on our way there. But other than Green Lane, that was the only name of a town I knew when I was looking on the Internet...!

It was a good choice. This was an extremely friendly church with several people stopping to talk to us (we have been at a few churches where no one except the greeters has even acknowledged us...), asking how we found them, and inviting us back again.

It was a good service with Pastor Marc Hershberger providing some interesting new insights about the 23rd Psalm.

It was a beautiful morning, but you can see the thunderheads once again starting to build as we arrived back at Homestead Campground --

This is a very pleasant place. Some of the campsites are nestled into the woods, but we asked for, and got, a site in the open so that we could get satellite reception in order to watch the Mariners games on TV.

The campground has one of the nicest play areas we have seen for children. Because of the hard rain showers this afternoon, it was pretty deserted, but we have seen it getting some pretty good usage with even a dog going down one of the slides!

We've had a lazy afternoon. We watched the Mariners get beaten by the White Sox; took naps; discussed her paper on the Scots-Irish on Google with my eldest granddaughter; and watched out the windows of Auntie Violet as the rain alternated with sunshine.
