Remember how excited I was a couple of weeks ago when I saw these magnolia trees with what I thought were loads of buds?
I thought that the trees would be covered with beautiful white blossoms when they opened. Turns out that what I thought were buds were sheaths covering new leaves!
The trees do have beautiful white blooms, but it seems like there's only a few blooms at a time. And they don't last at all. There will be dried-up brown ones right along side...
Oh, it's a pretty tree with its glossy evergreen leaves.
It's just not the spectacular sight that I guess I was looking -- and hoping for.
