We had a wonderfully full church yesterday with lots of visitors who had stayed over after the sale. Diane was in tears when she reflected on the incredible amount of "Absolutely Nothing" dollars that were raised at the sale and given to MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) in her brother Jim Stucky's name. It was only fitting as Jim is the auctioneer who came up with the idea of auctioning off Absolutely Nothing as a way for folks who really didn't want nor need another quilt or goodie, to donate to the cause. The first couple of years we gave out Absolutely Nothing certificates, but we soon found that people didn't even want that much "clutter."
I am always amazed on Sunday morning to see the parking lot bare and only filled with cars. It's almost like magic the way everyone pitches in and gets everything put away late Saturday afternoon. The tent comes down, the table and chairs get stored, all the canopies disappear and you'd be hard-pressed to know that anything had happened. (Of course, there's always the long line of porta-potties waiting to be picked up...)
We did start the process of picking up and packing up the motorhome yesterday afternoon, getting some stuff out of storage and putting other stuff away. We both decided that we were still too tired to travel today, so will wait until tomorrow. With the nasty hydraulic leak we've got with the back slide again, we're going to have to make a detour to Uhlmann's RV in Chehalis to get it fixed. I guess the good part about that is that we'll at least get to see Daughter Dawn's family if we end up over on I-5 instead of our original plan to go directly south from here.
