I am writing this in Toad II on my laptop as we head for Spokane. It's pretty obvious that signal strength at the ranch isn't sufficient for posting anything! Putting up the antenna -- and taking it down -- is a major task that doesn't seem to be quite important enough to do for the few days that we are staying there.
We had a wonderful evening last night with our Godson Peter and his little family. He and Tessa had invited us over for Baked Tacos (a real good way to make tacos that she said she had found on Pinterest...). We had not seen their new baby Ethan, who is a smiling happy little guy who allowed me to not only hold him, but to put him to sleep. It's nice to get a baby fix! Big brother Ethan has grown at least six inches taller since we've seen him. Grandpa Curt came over for dinner as well, so we had a very nice visit.
After a whole slew of overcast rainy windy days, the sun is out today. But it was 30.5 degrees when I got up at seven this morning -- I think my pot of geraniums that have traveled with us for several months, may be toast! I understand that the fellows are putting up the big tent for the Mennonite Country Auction for MCC at the church this morning. It was supposed to be an after-church project last Sunday afternoon, but the nasty weather and wind precluded that.
We have lost another one of our beloved elders. Ernie Sprenger passed away this past week. He was a Congregational pastor in Ritzville for many years. We've known and loved him through many of life's passages. He even served as an Interim Pastor at Menno for a time after his retirement. Our blessings and thoughts go out to his family.
