Over the Pass

This morning we headed on west over I-90 via Snoqualamie Pass. As we drove along the Yakima River, we began to see lots of color in the deciduous trees, although it was mostly yellows.

We really lucked out. There was lots of traffic heading east, but we sailed right through going west-bound.

There has been quite a bottleneck this summer going over Snoqualamie Pass as the work crews keep  chipping away at the mountain. I understand that they want to end up eventually with an eight-lane freeway over the pass...

I thought they were finished for this year, but they're still working on it ...

They were drilling more blast holes when we came by, so I guess they're still blasting in the evenings.

Finally, as we approached Olympia, we began to see some reds in the trees...

We pulled in to Travel Inn RV Resort outside Elma and were back to the yellows...

Forry backed Auntie Violet into Site #1. Since we're going to be here for a few days, we decided to brave putting out one of the living room slides. My, what a difference that makes!
