Organizing Coffee Pods -- AND Company!

One of the things anyone who lives full-time in an RV will tell you is that it's a constant fight against clutter.  With limited space, plus the tendency of anything loose to fly when traveling, you really don't want small items stacked up and lying around.  Ever since we bought our Keurig individual cup coffee machine, I've been struggling with the little coffee pods.  Do you keep them in the boxes they come in (or what do you do with the big boxes of them from Costco?)? Or do you tuck the boxes away in scarce drawer space and continually drag them out as someone wants to make a cup of coffee?

So I was delighted yesterday when I spotted this platform for the Keurig that had a storage drawer beneath it that actually holds 36 of the pods.

The drawer has little "aisles" that hold the pods in place and in order --

And then the coffee maker itself sits on top.  We set it up so that the drawer opens to the left and doesn't interfere with the frequently used Foreman Grill that we have sitting in front of it.

What a delight this morning when our dear friend Mary called and said she would stop by this afternoon on her way to a get-to-gather at one of the Pend Oreille lakes with some of her local friends.  While Mary has been employed as Washington's Secretary of Health in Olympia for thirteen years now, she still maintains her primary residence at Tiger Pass, here in the northern Tri-counties. Thinking that it was very likely that she would come home for the Labor Day holiday, I sent her an email telling her that we would be in Newport for a few days.  We hadn't seen each other since we went out for BBQ last summer when we were in the Olympia area.

We can pick up conversation with Mary as if we had just seen her yesterday.  She's one of the sisters of my heart. Mary brought some pictures of her sister Heidi's wedding and we spent a lovely couple of hours catching up on each other's families and our activities.

Not only is it getting dark earlier every night  -- it was dark by 7:30 tonight -- it is starting to get cold at night.  Mary said it was in the thirties at her place last night.  And I've been turning on the electric mattress pad on my side of the bed.  I think Fall is on its way!
