A Pleasant Sunday

What a pleasant day we had today.  I had checked on the Internet to see what time church started this morning. We hadn't been here for a couple of years and I could not remember. The time wasn't on the web page (it looks like it hasn't been tended to for a long while), but there was a phone number.  It was busy when we first called, but then we finally got through to answering machine that told us that worship started at 9:45.

We were up early.  I fixed orange rolls for breakfast and we headed out.  The Spring Valley Mennonite Church is 7-8 miles out of Newport on Spring Valley Road.  We got there just a few minutes before services started.  We had met the pastor, Meg Lumsdaine and her husband and two young children several years ago when they were visiting at Menno.  This morning her husband Peter preached the sermon -- about all the names in various countries and cultures for God.  It was a nice worship service with communion and some good music.  And there was lively discussion of Proverbs in the Adult Sunday School.

We came back to Old American Kampground following church with a short stop at the Safeway store for orange juice and some chicken for lunch.  Then it was time for a nap!
