Forry and I are fortunate to basically have two families - our biological family and our church family. Today we had a chance to visit with parts of both of them.
Early this afternoon, Pastor Mathew came by for a visit and spent most of the afternoon with us. He had not been inside Auntie Violet before. It was fun to show him our example of "small house" living. We had an enjoyable time chatting and becoming better acquainted. As we travel or are in the Southwest much of the time, we don't always get to spend as much time as we might like with our church family. Menno and its people will always be "home."
We had planned early in the week to go out to dinner tonight with Brother Pat and Cindy, but hadn't decided where. He called this afternoon to tell me that instead of going out, he was barbecuing ribs on his new barbecue. They were incredibly good! It was nice to visit with the two of them before we head south. I was hoping we might get to see Niece Ashley and her family as well, but didn't get that lucky.
