It's official. Summer is now over. I definitely know that. How? I ate the last one of the flavorful heirloom tomatoes from my Brpther Pat's garden this morning for breakfast. I guess it's back to eating the best of the worst from the grocery store. It was wonderful while it lasted, but it's definitely over.
After washing a couple more loads of washing, we went into Moses Lake to Monroe House this afternoon to do some visiting. We started by stopping to see Betty and Donnie, former neighbors of my parents when we lived in the Carico Hills. Their daughter Dawn was visiting with them as well. They were quite surprised to see us pop in. We got caught up a bit on both our family and theirs.
Next stop was on the other end of the facility to see Vic. Pastor Mathew was making a pastoral visit when we arrived, so we enjoyed another short visit with him as well. Vic has only been at this Assisted Living facility for a couple of weeks, but Daughter Pam has done a great job of making his quarters look very homey.
On our way to visit Dorothy, we spotted Malinda sitting with some other ladies in the lobby and got to visit with her for a bit. I had a very pleasant chat with Dorothy. She has an admirable attitude. She told me she was determined to be happy, so she looks at things positively.
After our visits at Monroe House, we ran a few errands. We got new windshield wipers for Toad II and purchased extra oil for the RV. We were going to get the oil changed in the Suzuki, but it was too late in the day and the shop was already closed. We still felt like it had been a productive day.
