Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival

Finally, we headed for Disney today! We spent a good share of the day today at the Flower and Garden Festival being held at Epcot. We didn't get a real great start as we ended up being sent to a parking space w-a-y at the far end of the parking lot.

We're in Discover Row 17 (need to remember that so we can find it again!) --

So here we are at the entrance to Epcot with the Mickey topiary of Fantasia behind us --

The topiaries are the highlights of the Flower and Garden Festival --

Here's Goofy --

The Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden had the more delicate topiaries - and lots of fascinated little girls -

I loved the plumes on Captain Hook's hat --

Snow White was cavorting along the edge of the lake with her seven dwarf companions --

Even the lake shore was in bloom with butterflies and flowers. The fun part was all the "flower islands" floating out on the lake --

How about The Lady and The Tramp?

Then there was this very large dragon in front of the Chinese pavilion --

See how they used blooming bromeliads for the spikes on its back?

Over by the Mexico area, we began to see the orchids --

One of the staff -- excuse me, "cast members" -- told Forry that they had brought in over 3000 orchids for this exhibit --

I have lots and lots more pictures both of the flowers and some of the rides we went on, but I'll end this blog with "Farmer Mickey and Minnie" in their garden --

And of course, Pluto!
