A Trip to East Wenatchee

We drove to East Wenatchee today to visit Forry's Sister Grace and her husband Les. Les had hip surgery last week and we wanted to visit them before we left for the south country.

What a change in the scenery since we drove this way just a couple of weeks ago. The orchards that were heavy with ripe fruit are now void of apples and are turning color.

The poplar trees along the edges of the road are now a brilliant yellow --

Here's another orchard, still colorful against the sagebrush hill --

It was a gray and overcast day. As we approached the Wenatchee River Valley, all we could see was fog --

The yellow poplars near the river were golden against the bluffs --

We spent a nice couple of hours visiting with Les and Grace, then made a Costco stop and headed back home to Auntie Violet.
