We got a late check-out (noon) and just hung around the motel and watched TV or read all morning. They had a hot breakfast with both biscuits and gravy and made-to-order omelets, so that took up an hour or so. We did enjoy taking l-o-n-g hot showers. One of the downsides of RV living is the necessity to conserve water (mainly, to avoid having to empty the tanks too often), so we usually take GI showers. You know, you turn the water on and get wet; you turn the water off and soap up; you turn the water on and rinse off; you turn the water on and get your hair wet; you shut the water off and shampoo; and so it goes. Anyway, it was nice to just stand there and soak.
After we checked out, we headed over to I-5 Uhlmann's RV and hung out in their waiting room. They do have complimentary popcorn and drinks and a large TV, so it isn't too much of a hardship...
About three o'clock, Clayton finally said they were almost finished. There indeed, was a crack in the sealing around the rear vent that he re-sealed. He also installed the roller sun shade on the passenger side of the windshield; repaired the radiator shroud so that it can be opened and shut; replaced the missing exhaust pipe holder; lubricated the generator slide opener; and fabricated a new seal for the end of the tie rod on the steering arm. Well, I don't think Clayton did it all, but he saw that it got done...
By the time they finally, finally finished up and we hooked up Toad II and paid the bill, it was a good five pm. We wanted to at least get a couple of hours down the road, so headed south on I-5:
We drove until about 7:30, then pulled into an RV Park for the night.
