One of the things we've begun to notice more and more is how long it takes us to recuperate from a busy, active day. It seems like we get busy and do a couple of days of sight-seeing, then need a day to rest up. Today was definitely one of those days.
We had slept in and had a late breakfast (more like brunch!) and were just sitting around enjoying a second cup of coffee when there came a knock on the door. One of the campground staff was delivering our box of mail which had come yesterday while we were gone. Forry had to very quickly slip on his jeans so that he could answer the door... ;-)
Daughter Mary Mae had sent along our mail along with some prescriptions that I had been waiting for. We spent the next few hours opening mail, paying the one ranch bill that came, and reading magazines.
I was pleased to see that in the new Good Sam Club magazine Highways, life members will no longer have to pay dues for the President's Club membership at Camping World -- they have waived all future President's Club dues! While we have always appreciated the President's Club discounts, it will be nice to save a little money by not paying for annual dues.
Since we are leaving Sun Valley Campground tomorrow (we had stayed an extra day waiting for the mail), Forry wanted to get gas for Toad. We made a quick trip into Chillecothe; mailed some letters; bought some orange juice, blueberries, yogurt and mouthwash; and gassed Toad ($3.07 a gallon with the 30 cent Kroger's discount) before coming home for dinner.

A Sunset Walk
After a day spent doing laundry and household chores, we went out for a walk around Sun Valley campground just before sunset.
Auntie Violet's site is at the edge of the campground. There is only one other RV parked near her. The father drives one of those pickups that can be driven on railroad tracks, so we are assuming he's a RR worker. They have two young boys who left for school this morning before daylight.
There is a big pond not very far from where we are parked. There were lots of sparrows hiding in the tules as we walked by --
It looks like the level of the water is much higher during the summer season. One end of the pond is posted for swimming and the other end for catch and release fishing --
Auntie Violet seems much happier now that she can put all of her slides out --
And I certainly am enjoying life more with all of the space that we have when the slides are out!

Gusty, Windy Day
It is finally quiet outside. The wind blew all night last night and most of the day today. It wasn't a steady wind either, it would blow lightly, then wham! with gusts that shook the motor home! At least the sky was blue when we finally got up this morning -- after staying up late to watch ABC's Diane Sawyer's show about the Lakota Sioux children last night.
Forry dug his Belgian waffle machine out from under the couch and we had waffles and pork sausages for brunch. We did take showers, but otherwise just spent the day vegged out. Forry watched a couple of football games (WSU is playing Stanford right now); I took a nap and read a book on my Kindle. It was definitely not a day to be running around outside.
We will be staying here at Sun Valley Campground for the next week. It will give us a chance to have our mail sent and to explore the area. There are a large number of ancient mounds in the area as well as many historic sites. Chillicothe was the early capital of what was then the Northwest Territory and later the first capital of Ohio.
