Basketball and Groceries

The Gonzaga basketball game in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA basketball tournament was scheduled for 4:15 today in Houston. We really needed to get groceries, but decided to wait until after the game. I figured it would be over in an hour and a half to two hours, but with all of the time-outs for commercials it took more like two and a half hours.

It was already getting dark when we headed for the Safeway store in Fountain Hills. It was one of those days when there was livestock out roaming. We had had a cow or two go by outside the fence earlier - which really got the dogs excited as they were being walked. Then we saw more cows alongside the road near the casino and a group of horses on the road a couple of miles further down. Makes one a bit cautious about driving on these roads at night!

Gonzaga did win their game and will be playing in the Elite Eight on Sunday. We tried to spot our friends Judy and Tim in the crowd, but weren't successful. We'll look for them again on Sunday.
