Just about the time I was looking in the freezer and thinking about what I should take out to fix for dinner, a note came on Facebook telling about tonight's special at Cafe 87 over at the Fort McDowell Casino. The Casino is about a quarter mile away from the Eagle View RV Resort. Tonight's special was for New York Strip Steak along with baked or mashed potatoes and vegetable for $7.99. That sounded better to me than cooking, especially since we hadn't been over to the Casino for a couple of weeks.
It occurred to me to think about how much those little electronic gadgets have changed our lives. We used to depend upon either our weekly newspaper which had local specials or perhaps if it was something very special, there might be an announcement on the radio from the town eighty miles away. Now, once you "LIKE" something on Facebook or give a business your email address, you're almost guaranteed to get current information and updates from them.
Sometimes, it is so much information it drives you nuts and you have to quickly unsubscribe. I think the worst ones I have dealt with recently have been florists. Both FTD and ProFlowers were sending me two to three emails a day! An occasional one I don't mind, but come on!
My. life has changed!
