Evidently, our turn had come. We have heard all kinds of stories about tire blow outs over the years, but in our almost nine years of RVing, we've been fortunate and not had one. Today had the front left tire of Toad II blow out as we were going down the extremely rough highway that is I-40. It did a great deal of damage, messing up the front bumper and denting the rim of the tire.
We had originally planned to continue north, going up to Page, Arizona for the night. When I called the one RV Park that we had a number for, they said they were booked up solid through April. We tried calling the other park that was listed, but the number was out of service. So we decided we would take I-40 West instead and once again spend the night at Blake RV Park and Horse Motel. It's a nice park and has a wonderful owner. He ended up getting his big jack and lug wrench and took the wheel off and put the spare tire on for us.
It looks like we will be spending tomorrow checking with the tire stores in Kingman to see about getting new tires and a new rim...
