Update on the Neighbors

We've been watching the nest pretty closely and thought we saw the mother bird reaching down in like she was feeding a baby. Today, we got a good look, and saw two of them! You can see one of them in this picture, reaching up for more --

When she sits on the nest any more, she has to perch on the side --

When she fluffs out her feathers and her tail, she can shade the babies a bit from the sun --

We have yet to catch her drinking from our hummingbird feeder, but the level keeps going down, so we are hoping that it isn't all evaporation! Forry's been trying to identify what kind of hummingbirds these are, but females are notoriously hard to tell. He's leaning strongly towards her being an Anna's. due the to her small size, the white line through her eye and a spot under her tail, but???
