A good night's sleep and we were ready to go again. We only bought the meal plan for lunch and dinner, so grabbed a bagel with asparagus and mushrooms at the bagel shop downstairs in the hotel.
The first day of delegate sessions went well. I'm serving on the Resolutions Committee, so sit at a table up towards the front with the rest of the committee, most of whom have become friends over the years. We have one new-to-me committee member who is named Horace, my great- great grandfather's name. It sure it isn't a common name!
So far, we've had really good meals, not the easiest thing to do when you're feeding several thousand people.
The music and singing has been wonderful. The group sang Holy, Holy, Holy last night and brought shivers down my spine. The church I grew up in used to sing it every Sunday morning as an invocation, but it never sounded as good as it did last night with over a thousand people singing.
The Hyatt Regency has misters down on the street level -- they remind me of the ones my Dad used to use for his hogs in the summer time! They sure drop the temperature in their vicinity.
We could have gone to another "learning experience" this evening, but were tired enough to just want to come back to the hotel and relax. It's tough for an introvert to spend so many hours with other people -- even ones you like a lot!
