We were dressed and ready to head for Menno this morning and were surprised when we opened the curtains and stepped outside. There was already 2-3 inches of snow on the ground and it was coming down hard. We went ahead and started out, but the closer we got to the freeway, the harder it was to see.
We looked at each other and I don't know which one of us said first that we didn't want to be out in this kind of a storm! We had wanted to go to Menno to say good-bye to our church family and then to go over to the ranch and get a few things out of the storage unit and move the vehicles in front of it.
So we ended up spending a quiet day at home. Later in the day, the snow turned to rain. The roads are clear, but the snow is now very wet slush. Forry did take a trip over to the recycling place late this afternoon and got rid of all we had stacked up here.
This evening I roasted an acorn squash, filling it with a diced pear and dried pie cherries with butter and maple syrup -- GOOD!
