I wanted to share some pictures I took this morning of the beautiful trees at Seven Feathers. This is one of the beautiful white birch trees next to Auntie Violet's site. I think the peeling bark is so pretty.
The greens and yellows of this maple (?) tree are spectacular -
Another of the white birch trees. A piece of art!
We got a fairly decent start this morning, getting on the road by 10 AM. It was the longest travel day we've had so far. The Siskiyou Mountain pass coming out of Oregon is 4600+ feet. We were in and out of misty clouds all morning until we finally crossed the California border. At the border Agricultural Check Point, the lady asked if we had any fruit. She was unimpressed by the two apples I had in the refrigerator and sent us on our way.
It was so great to finally see Mount Shasta. She is already pretty snow-covered with her head in the clouds. Once you see her, you know you are really in California.
We pulled into Old Orchard RV Park in Orland, California about four in the afternoon. The sky was blue and the temperature was 85 degrees. Off with the jeans and tennies. Time for shorts and sandals! We got settled just in time to watch the last game of the World Series. Unfortunately, Forry's pick won this year...
