When we are on the road and away from Menno, we rely on joining worship with our church family via U-Tube. Gene or one of his sons make a video of the service and then Bill uploads it to U-Tube so that we can see and share it.
Today, however, we were privileged to attend Salem Mennonite Church where our Son-in-law Todd is Pastor. He was preaching on the portion of Matthew 22 where the Pharisees query Jesus about whether they should pay taxes to the emperor. This Oregon congregation does most of their singing without accompaniment and it sounded wonderful. As a treat and a follow-up to the sermon, they sang an old Bob Dylan song, "You Gotta Serve Somebody," with an accordion accompaniment.
Daughter Dawn has a bad sore throat and didn't come to church this morning. Not wanting to catch it, we came on home after church instead of going back to their house. Forry spent the afternoon watching football games while I read.
