It was drizzling when we woke up this morning and it continued to rain off and on all day. It was a gloomy day for traveling, but we headed south on Interstate 5. We crossed over the Columbia River into Oregon, traversed the slow-down and heavy travel in Portland, and continued on towards Salem.
We had checked on-line and looked at the RV Reviews and decided to try an RV park closer to Daughter Dawn's new home in Keizer then the park we usually stay at in Woodburn. Hee Hee Illahee is a fairly new park (2006) owned and run by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. When I called this morning, the fellow answering the phone assured me they had lots of pull-through sites and that we didn't need a reservation. When we got here this afternoon, he was a bit hard-pressed to find us a site for three nights. Seems they had had a large group make reservations for the weekend. But, with a bit of looking he found a spot for us in Site 30.
We headed over to Dawn and Todd's place about five o'clock and went with them and Grandson Micah to a place, Dos Hermanos, that serves Salvadorean food. I'm not quite sure what I ate, some kind of samosa type flat bread with pork filling. It was quite good and along with black beans and rice made a tasty meal. Micah at 13, is really getting tall with long legs - and he's lost his little boy face!
After dinner we stopped by the Croc Center to surprise Granddaughter Kyra (16) who works there after school and weekends as a pool lifeguard. She is getting to be such a cute, grown-up young lady!
