We got ourselves and Auntie Violet organized fairly early this morning and left the RV resort near Salome and headed back to Mesa. We took the Salome Highway as far as Exit 81 on Interstate 10. Then went on to the Travel Center of America at Exit 104 to fill with diesel. It's been a while since we filled up -- Auntie Violet took on almost 72 gallons. At $3.92 a gallon, that hurt!
We followed Interstate 10 into Phoenix, then headed southeast on Highway 60 to Valle del Oro RV Resort. It was BUSY when we got there! The guide said that they had 44 rigs coming in today and that they were turning away anyone that didn't have a reservation! They actually went ahead and got us parked at Site 37 before we went into the office to register -- thinking we could go after we got settled in when there might be less congestion.
We are parked on a corner in an area of the resort that is mostly park models. When we were here at Christmas-time we were in Site 1317. This time we are in Site 37, a much older area of the park that doesn't have many rental spaces for RVs. It was quite a bit warmer here today then it was the last several days in Salome; we were able to leave the screen door open all afternoon. Actually, it was so warm, we ended up turning on the fans.
After we got all settled in, we made a much needed Costco run. Forry finally got his Polish dog fix!
