Catching Up

Today was one of those days we spent catching up on all the stuff we've neglected while Auntie Violet has been incapacitated. On top of the list was dirty clothes. I spent a good share of the morning doing laundry. It had rained off and on most of the night, so the air was very humid. My clothes sure didn't dry very quickly.

It was also the first of the month -- actually it's already the third -- and time to pay bills. It would have been a lot more difficult to do our business while on the road before the advent of the internet. As it is, I just get on-line with my bank, go to Bill Pay, and get the job done! Forry prefers to pay his bills over the phone, so I got that done as well.

This morning we could see comulonimbus clouds building all around the horizon. This afternoon the thunder and lightening started. It was really rumbling for a while as the storms moved all around us. I understand from the news that the area around Chewelah and Colville had some pretty hefty hailstones from the thunderstorms. We got a few scattered drops of rain and that was about it.

The Mariners are in Atlanta, so this evening's game was at four o'clock our time. It was quite a game that the Mariners won, even though they had lousy pitching the first three innings. It was pretty neat that John Buck, the back-up catcher, hit a three-run homer that won the game!
